The Kanata Electoral District Association of the Green Party of Canada is delighted to announce that Dr. Jennifer Purdy is our candidate for the ongoing federal election.
KANATA, March 29, 2025 — The Kanata Green Party confirmed today that its candidate for the ongoing federal election is Dr. Jennifer Purdy.
Dr. Purdy is a medical doctor who specializes in evidence-based preventative medicine and has a keen interest in the impacts of climate change on humans and planetary health. Dr Purdy spent 23 years in the Canadian Armed Forces, including postings as a family physician in Trenton, Petawawa, and Ottawa, before retiring in 2018 to open her own small business, a medical clinic in Kanata. Dr Purdy worked at the COVID clinic on Moodie Drive during the pandemic. She now lives in North Kanata, where she is kept busy by energetic triplets.
This moment in Canada’s history requires an all-hands-on-deck approach. It requires a leader, a visionary, and one who works well with others, regardless of their political affiliation. Thanks to my broad experience in the Forces, as a small business owner, and as a physician, I am the right candidate for this moment in Canada’s history. I am ready to serve.
Dr. Purdy is an experienced candidate, having run for the Green Party of Canada in Kanata-Carleton in 2019 and 2021. She is also the Defence Critic and past Health Critic in the GPC Shadow Cabinet.
