The Green Party of Canada launched our platform and budget on Sep 9. It is a plan to defend our democracy, to adopt sensible economic policies for all, to make our society fair and open, as well as just and equitable. And of course, to protect and enhance our shared environment. It is a platform about people and the essential services we all need to live safe, happy, fulfilled and enriched lives. It is plan to live by our values.
Please have a good look at how we propose to build a Canada that works together. Greens undertake to collaborate with all parties to do what’s best for Canadians and our country. And then look at what the other parties are offering. Ask all your candidates tough questions about how they will work in the next parliament. Then ask the other leaders. And demand answers – promises and platitudes are just not good enough to earn your vote.
Our platform is organized around four key issue areas: economy, communities, government, and climate. The policies within have been developed democratically, by people from all walks of Canadian life, from every province, territory, and traditional land.
We want Canadians to be heard by their government. We want to help people who need help, and to support small business and local communities as we grow stronger. We are offering a plan filled with optimism and conviction, not fear and the status quo. We hope it will inspire you to join us, and to vote Green on October 19.
