Introducing the new federal riding of Kanata

It’s official! With the start of the ongoing 45th general election, the federal riding of Kanata has been created. This is a result of the redistribution of ridings that was announced in 2023; however, the changes could only take effect when the last Parliament ended. The previous federal riding of Kanata-Carleton was affected. This process takes place every 10 years.

The new federal riding of Kanata includes:

  • All of Kanata North (City of Ottawa Ward 4) and Kanata South (Ward 23);

  • The part of Stittsville north of Hazeldean Road. (If you live south of Hazeldean Road, then you remain in the federal riding of Carleton);

  • The parts of West Carleton — March around Carp, east of the 417 and south of the line formed by Vaughan Sideroad / Donald B Munro Drive / Craig’s Sideroad / Murphy Sideroad / Constance Lake Road / Berry Sideroad. (If you live north of this line or west of the 417, then you are now in the federal riding of Carleton);

  • All of Bells Corners, which was formerly in the riding of Nepean.

Welcome to you all! The map below shows the boundaries of the new federal riding of Kanata.
